Awards

The Australian Society for Fish Biology has an active policy of supporting researchers and students whose discipline or research is relevant to the activities on the society. The principle way it demonstrates its support is through its annual awards.

Student International Travel Scholarship

Up to $5000 and can be awarded jointly.

Conference Awards and Bursaries

  1. John Glover Travel Fund
    A minimum of $100 up to 50% of travel costs for the annual conference to a maximum of $600.
  2. John Lake Poster Awards
    Junior and Senior awards - $600 each
  3. Gilbert P. Whitley Memorial Student Awards
    Junior and Senior Awards - $600 each

Research Support

  1. Barry Jonassen Award
    Freshwater research by a full-time honours or post-graduate student - $1000
  2. Michael Hall Award for Innovation
    Marine research by a full-time honours or post-graduate student - $500
