Field Trips

All field trips take place on Thursday 13 September 2007 and have been chosen to give delegates a snapshot of what’s on offer in Canberra and its regions.

The field trips are dependent on minimum numbers. If numbers are not reached, trips will be cancelled and all monies refunded after the conference.  All trips are open to non-conference attendees. You may nominate to transfer to another field trip if numbers permit. 

Field Trip 1: Snow Trip

Full day  $119*

Enjoy a day at Perisher Blue ski resort. The resort has slopes to cater for all levels of skiers and snowboarders.  The Package includes:

  • Luxury coach travel (Canberra to Bullocks Flat and return)
  • Ski-tube (Ex Bullocks Flat and return)
  • Unlimited use of all Perisher Blue Lifts
  • Hire of Skis, Stocks and Boots
  • National Park Entry Fees

* snowboards are available at additional cost.  Minimum 40 people.

Field Trip 2: Canberra Sights

Half day $50

See the unique attractions that Canberra has to offer in this four hour tour of the city.

Commencing with an overall view of the city from Mt Ainslie, the bus will take you on a tour of the city covering such well known icons as St John’s Church, Regatta Point & view Exhibition, Captain Cook Globe and Water Fountain, the Parliamentary Triangle (taking into view the National Library, Questacon. Commonwealth Place, The High Court, the National Art Gallery. Old Parliament House, Federation Mall & Parliament House. This will be followed by a tour of the Botantic Gardens and then return to University House.

There is a maximum of 20 people only for this field trip.

Field Trip 3: Winery Tour

Helms Winery Murrumbateman $90

Enjoy a ‘behind the scenes’ look at one of the ACT Regions most popular wineries.  The tour includes not only the winery tour, but you get to meet the winemakers for a unique tasting experience.

After the tasting, enjoy a wine and smoked meat tasting followed by a set lunch at one of the numerous restaurants in the area - Poachers Pantry
