Workshop Aims

  • 1. Provide an overview of current policy direction, management strategies and research programmes for each jurisdiction (state, territory, federal, New Zealand, USA).
  •  
  • 2. Understand and develop the partnership between recreational fisheries management and research.
  •  
  • 3. Discuss existing and novel approaches for assessing recreational fisheries.
  •  
  • 4. Provide a forum for stakeholders to present their vision on what sustainable recreational fisheries should look like in 20 years.

  • - Anyone with an interest in the sustainable development of recreational fisheries in Australia.

  • - Fisheries managers – be involved in a discussion of various management strategies and their strengths and weaknesses.
