FORMAL SESSIONS

Melbourne Museum is open to the general public between the hours of 10 am and 5 pm daily.  Entry is gained through either of two sets of doors opening from the concourse at the centre of the building opposite the Royal Exhibition Building. Prior to normal opening hours delegates may enter the building through the western of the two entrances by displaying their registration badge.

Apart from the Conference Dinner, all conference sessions will be held in spaces at the front of the museum, outside ticketed areas.
Oral presentations will be 20 minutes in length, including question and changeover times. The schedule will be strictly maintained. Speakers will be required to present PC compatible PowerPoint presentations stored on USB memory sticks or CDs to IT assistants in the Discovery Centre’s Lecture Theatre on the western side of the Lower Ground at the front of the Museum. Handover must take place during Sunday registration (for Monday morning talks) or at least two sessions prior to the session in which they are to be presented.

Posters cannot exceed 1m wide x 1m high (smaller dimensions are acceptable). Posters will be placed on velcro compatible boards.

Student presentations, both oral and poster, will automatically be assessed for student awards, unless presenters request otherwise. Consequently, students must indicate whether they are eligible for junior or senior awards. For eligibility, please refer to the Student Awards page on this and the official ASFB websites.
