2013 ASFB Conference
ASFB 2013 Conference
The Hamilton 2013 conference organising committee is looking forward to welcoming you to New Zealand in August for the conference jointly hosted by the New Zealand Freshwater Sciences Society, New Zealand Marine Sciences Society and Australian Society for Fish Biology.
Conference theme is “Aquatic Science at the Interface
The conference website is now live. Go to the link for updates
About the Conference: Much of our work is carried out within fixed boundaries defined by ecosystem type, species, geography, culture or discipline. Important advances in knowledge are frequently made through the cross-fertilisation of ideas at the interface of these boundaries, whether they are across disciplines, biotic groups or ecosystems, or through the interaction of science with social, cultural and economic perspectives. This conference will augment a traditional programme of sessions by linking fundamental and applied aquatic sciences at the interface of land-water, riverine-estuarine and coastal-marine realms, between food webs, biotic groups and ecosystem processes, and across multidisciplinary groups integrating environmental science, social science, economics and traditional knowledge.
Highlights of the Conference:
• International and local plenary speakers include, Rod Connolly from Griffith University, Queensland, Lindsay Chadderton from The Nature Conservancy, Great Lakes region, USA and Dr Clive Howard-Williams NIWA, New Zealand.
• A range of special sessions has been organised on topical issues. Registrants can nominate their oral paper to be considered for a special session on the abstract submission page
