THEME: ASFB

A study was conducted during 2001 to determine fish species diversity and abundance in The International Wetlands, Alma-Gol, Adji-Gol and Ala-Gol, are located in the north of Iran (Latitude: 37N, Longtitude: 54E), of Golestan province. These wetlands are the largest isolated waters of Golestan province. Eight fish species from three families and eight genera were sampled, the majority being Cyprinidae. Three species were alien. According to different species indices, the diversity of fish species and their abundance were different between wetlands. 10 environmental factors were determined with respect to species diversity and abundance seasonally.
