Rod Connolly
Rod Connolly is a marine scientist using automation to support management of productive and resilient fisheries and aquatic ecosystems. His lab develops automated monitoring for fisheries assessments and for studies of fish movement, behaviour and fish-habitat interactions. He is lead investigator for the digital platform for underwater computer vision, supported by the Australian Research Data Commons, and internationally for the Global Wetland Project which uses science to aid the conservation and restoration of marine habitats. As Director of the Coastal and Marine Research Centre at Griffith University he mentors students and research staff in the application of artificial intelligence technology for cost-effective, timely monitoring of aquatic systems.
